In 1984 the Principals formed Walters Chambers & Associates Ltd. to provide structural engineering services that combined their engineering expertise with their practical approach to structural design. This combination results in designs that are cost effective and functional. With the use of computers to assist the design, new and innovative solutions are easily developed to suit the needs of the client.

From its Edmonton office the firm has provided design services for projects in all of Western and Northern Canada. The firm has undertaken design for industrial projects in the USA, Ecuador, Egypt and Pakistan.

Our dedicated staff are committed to working with our clients to make each project successful. The scope of the projects we undertake is diverse ranging from small assignments to large, complex multi-discipline projects. Our structural designs incorporate the use of steel, concrete, wood, aluminum and glass as required by the project.

Structural Engineering Building Services

Preliminary Design and Analysis

Often done to determine the feasibility of a project. This service is part of the design process where alternate designs are explored to determine the optimum solution.

Final Analysis and Working Drawings

The completion of design and checking. The preparation of construction documents ready for construction. The drawings are prepared using our CAD system to improve accuracy and reduce production time.

Field Services

This includes review of the shop drawings, on site inspections and reviews, reviewing contractor's claims as required and the provision of Building Code Schedules as required by the local building officials.

Shop Drawing Review

WCA can provide review and stamping of shop drawings when required.
